Anybody else have relatives visiting the DMV when so many attractions are closed due to this government shutdown? I've been through so many of these, I created a perennial list I call: D.C. Activities During Government Shutdowns - An Incomplete but Often Changing List of Suggested Alternative Activities. Needs a better title, for sure. I'm open to suggestions for that and anything that should be added to the list. My personal favorite activity during a shutdown is a biking tour of DC. You can still see the monuments even during a shutdown. All that white marble lit up at night is so lovely it can remind us of the true spirit of American politics and the kind of system the Founding Fathers envisioned.
